Our Programs

3 – 4 years old
In English For Kids we believe children learn while having fun, for this reason our Nursery program includes:
- Songs
- Tales
- Puppets and stuffed animals
- Arts & Crafts
- Practical activities
We also use interactive screens for the reinforcement and practice of the language through games and dynamics.
The Nursery program in English For Kids includes monthly and weekly themes, and daily activities to achieve the academic objectives in a fun way.
Within the lesson planning there is space for special events, where children learn vocabulary, shapes, colors, letters and numbers as they celebrate the traditions of the American culture.

4 – 5 years old
Our Pre-kinder program introduces the alphabet to the students through sounds and words, thus they prepare to read in English. Art, music, games and hands-on activities help children explore creativity and develop self-esteem.
We develop monthly, weekly, and daily activities that are related to our planning, and reinforce the reading through letter recognition skills.
Parent involvement is a key part of our program. Children take activities home, so parents can keep in touch with what their child is learning each week.

5 – 6 years old
For our 5 and 6 years old students we offer more advanced concepts such as phonetics of English.
The EFK Kinder program seeks to prepare children for English reading through activities such as Letter of the Week, writing diary, music, rhymes, poems, and stories.
The final stage of our preschool program put greater emphasis on the ability to concentrate, use language, and retain essential reading skills.
We also incorporate Starfall reading program to help your child become a successful reader.

6 – 7 years old
In this program, your child will learn to read and write in English. Children at this age are ready to capture much more the reading, writing and grammar skill.
Oral language skills are also very important. Students will be listening to English during the four hours they spend at EFK.
At the beginning of the program there is usually some difficulties in expressing themselves in English. With the parent’s help and the child’s classroom routine your child will develop beautiful English skills.

7 – 8 years old
The second grade is a very exciting place for a child who just learned to read and write in English.
It is your child’s opportunity to build on the knowledge developed in 1st grade:
- Reading
- Spelling and Language
- Arts are part of our curriculum

8 – 9 years old
Our third grade program is for boys and girls of 8-9 years old. It emphasizes on reading and conversation. 3rd grade students begin reading longer and more difficult texts. In addition, the sentences and grammatical structures of this level are more complex than in previous levels.
There are two types of evaluations in 3rd grade: a daily assessment that corresponds to the activities in class and another one corresponding to the quarterly exams.
For a better development of the oral skills of our students, quarterly oral reports of selected topics are carried out in class.

9-10 years old
Our fourth grade program is for boys and girls of 9-10 years old; it emphasizes on conversation. From the first day, the child begin to learn how to communicate through dialogues, phrases, expressions and exercises that can be used with friends and family.
Children are taught to ask questions, give instructions, information, and respond. Our purpose is to help our fourth graders to improve their ability to listen while enjoying the language. Your child will have the opportunity to gain confidence while having fun. Again, reading, spelling and language arts are a major part of the curriculum.

10-11 years old
